Mia was seven years old, and she was learning to ride a bike in the park. Her father held the back of the seat and ran behind her. "Don't let go!" she said. "I won't," he promised.
At first Mia was scared. The bike wobbled from side to side. But then she began to go faster, and she started to laugh. After a long moment she shouted, "Papa, you're still holding, right?" She looked back.
Papa was far behind her. He was standing there, waving, with empty hands. Mia wobbled, but she did not fall. She rode around the pond and stopped in front of him. "You let go!" she said. "Two minutes ago," he said. Then she asked, "Can we do it again?"
