LingunAI

Chrome extension

Learn from the page you're already on.

Select a word to save it as a flashcard. Select a passage to read it again at your level. LingunAI follows you onto any website, in any language you're learning.

  • Free to install
  • Built for Chrome
  • Nothing leaves your browser until you click

Keep any word, right where you found it.

No copying, no switching tabs. The card form opens on top of the page you're reading, and AI Magic Fill can write the definition, synonyms and examples for you.

The article and its rewrite are a shortened sample. Your own pages and results will differ.

Too hard to read? Make it your level.

Found a great article written for native readers? Select it and LingunAI rewrites it in the language and CEFR level you choose, with the vocabulary worth keeping pulled out.

You stay in control.

The extension is small on purpose. Here is exactly what it does with the pages you visit.

Read the extension section of our Privacy Policy
It reads only what you select.
It looks at your selection to show its buttons, nothing else. It does not read the rest of the page or keep your browsing history.
Nothing is sent until you click.
Selecting text sends nothing. A word leaves your browser when you add a card or use AI Magic Fill. A passage reaches us only when you press Rewrite.
Your password stays on lingunai.com.
You sign in on our site and press Allow. The extension keeps a sign-in token that Sign out revokes at any time.
No ads, no trackers.
There is no advertising, analytics or third-party tracking code in the extension.

Questions, answered

01 Is the extension free?

Yes. Installing it costs nothing, and saving flashcards by hand is free and unlimited. AI Magic Fill and article rewrites use credits from your LingunAI plan, the same as on the website, and the free plan includes credits to try them.

02 Which browsers does it work in?

It is built for Google Chrome on a computer. Chrome on phones and tablets doesn't run extensions, and there are no Firefox or Safari versions yet. On any device you can still use LingunAI in the browser to read, rewrite articles and save words.

03 Which languages does it support?

The same ones as LingunAI: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Persian, and Hungarian. You pick the language when you add a card, and the extension remembers the last one you used.

04 What can it see on the pages I visit?

Only the text you select, and only to show its buttons. It does not read the rest of the page or keep your browsing history. Nothing leaves your browser until you click: a word is sent when you add a card or use AI Magic Fill, and a passage reaches LingunAI only when you press Rewrite. Our Privacy Policy covers it in full.

05 Why don't the buttons appear on some pages?

Chrome doesn't let extensions run on its own pages (chrome://), on the Chrome Web Store, or inside PDFs opened in its built-in viewer. The buttons also stay hidden while you're typing in a text box. On lingunai.com you don't need the extension: select a word in a story or article and you can save it from there.

06 How do I sign out or remove it?

Click the LingunAI icon in your toolbar and choose Sign out. That disconnects the extension and revokes its sign-in. To remove it, right-click the icon and choose Remove from Chrome. Your flashcards stay in your account either way.
