Reyes is an astronaut. She lives on a space station for six months. She works every day, and she feels alone. One Friday night she hears a small voice on the radio. It is a girl! The girl reads a book aloud. Her name is Lila.
Every Friday they talk. Lila asks, "What does space smell like?" "Like hot metal," says Reyes. On the last Friday Reyes reads the end of the book. Then she goes home and visits Lila's school.
