The Cheese That Ran Away

Every spring, the village has a cheese race. The cheese is big and round. It rolls down the hill, and everybody runs after it. This year the mayor drops it too early! The cheese rolls through the market and the bakery. It rolls down to the sea. Four hundred people run after it. Ada is eight and small. She sits at the end of the pier with her red wagon. The cheese rolls into the wagon and stops. Ada wins!
