The Chef Who Could Not Taste

Luca has a small restaurant. Tonight an inspector comes. On Thursday morning Luca cannot smell his coffee. He cannot taste his soup! Bea is fifteen. She washes pots, and she has a good nose. "Taste this," says Luca. "It needs more salt," says Bea. All day she tastes for him. At eight o'clock the inspector eats everything. "I could not taste today," says Luca. "My helper did." The inspector smiles. The restaurant gets a star.
