Auntie Mei ran a noodle stall in the night market. Every customer got the same bowl and the same joke: "Careful, the noodles are hot, but my jokes are cold!"
One evening a man in an expensive coat ordered the cheapest noodles. He wrote in a tiny notebook. Auntie Mei saw the notebook and his shiny shoes, but she gave him the same bowl and the same joke. At the end he said, "I am a famous food critic. What is your secret?" She shrugged. "Hot broth, hungry people, and I don't change for anybody."
He gave her five stars. Auntie Mei never read the review, but her customers told her. The next week the line was longer, and she told the same joke.
