A crow lived in a busy city. It loved walnuts, but they were too hard to open. One day the crow saw a car drive over a walnut on the road. Crack! The nut was open.
The crow learned quickly. It dropped a walnut on the zebra crossing and waited on the traffic light. The cars drove over the nut. When the cars stopped at the red light and the people started to walk, the crow flew down and ate the pieces.
An old man, Mr. Sato, sat on a bench every day and fed the sparrows. He watched the crow for weeks. Soon he began to bring walnuts for it. Later the crow brought its young ones to the crossing and taught them, too.
