At half past eight I go in. It is dark. Thirty people hide behind the sofa and in the wardrobe. "Are you with Pavel?" a man whispers. "No, with Nadia," I say. At nine, the door opens. "SURPRISE!" Pavel and Nadia look at each other. Then they laugh and laugh.
