Pip is a small garden robot. Old Mr. Haruki buys Pip to grow tomatoes on his roof. He talks to Pip. He misses his wife, Emi. She loved sunflowers.
Pip's program says, "Tomatoes only." But Pip listens and learns. One spring, Pip finds Emi's old jar of seeds. Pip plants a row of sunflowers. In July, Mr. Haruki sees the yellow flowers. He is quiet. Then he says, "Thank you, Pip." Pip writes: "Error: no task. Result: happiness."
