Theo has a new apartment. Every evening at eight, a voice speaks in the wall. "The ship is sinking! Save the captain's cat!" Theo is afraid. He holds a glass to the wall.
At last, he knocks on his neighbor's door. Mrs. Okafor, an old actress, opens it. She is recording a story for children in the hospital. "Come in," she says. "I need sounds!" Theo makes thunder with a baking tray and rain with rice.
